At the beginning of December we said Goodbye! to Mrs. Bond, our student teacher. We loved having her with us and are really going to miss her. She already has job covering a maternity leave lined up for this spring in Dunlap.
We made Mrs. Bond a book to keep to help her remember us.
Mrs. Bond surprised Mrs. Swearingen with a personalized stool for the classroom and she loves it!
On Monday we had a feast in the gym. Mr. Ekena reminded us to be thankful for our families and our teachers. Every student in the school made a feather for his head dress.
We ate popcorn and drank juice on placemats that we decorated that morning.
We made vests with native american designs and some of us added fringe to the bottom.
We hope everyone has a safe and happy thanksgiving!
Carving Pumpkins! The class thought cleaning out the seeds felt gross and slimy. We both tried out best but Mrs. Bond did a much better job with her BOO pumpkin.
We had a great party today! Thank you for Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Jenks for planning the games and crafts. Also, thank you to Mrs. Heubi and Mrs. McKinney for helping! We really appreciate it!
A story in our reader is called Big Rigs. Mrs. Gabbert, another first grade teacher, had her husband bring in his dump truck so we could see it in action. We liked getting to see it go up and down.
